2013 Short Course
Over 160 members of the Illinois Ready Mixed Concrete Association met for the annual Short Course on January 7th & 8th, 2013 in East Peoria, Illinois.  An afternoon board meeting was followed by an evening reception and dinner. The next day occasioned an annual general membership meeting and presentations focused on the present/future of ready mix concrete, slag, fly ash, environmental regulations, insurance issues, interactive discussions on materials mix designs, production, delivery, testing problems and solutions, contractor relations and IDOT 2013 update.
2012 Scholarship Golf Outing
IRMCA members met at Pine Lakes Golf Club on September 11th, 2012 for their annual round of golf, beverages, boxed lunch, steak dinner and prizes. A few members joined the group later for a drink and dinner.  IRMCA's executive director, Bruce Grohne agonized over the weather forecast (40% chance of precipitation).  After over a decade streak of no rain, IRMCA members played only a couple of holes before sirens called everyone to the clubhouse due to lightning.  With only a 30 minute delay golfers headed back out to the course.  Fortunately, the brief shower eased the temperature from projected 90's to the 80's. The proceeds from this annual event fund IRMCA scholarships for students studying civil engineering at colleges in Illinois.
2013 IRMCA Winter Meeting
