As a member of a Regional Promotion Group you would participate in 4 meetings per year. Three of the meetings would be via GoToMeeting where you could log on via your computer and participate in the meeting. Participation in your local RPG is important to grow the market in your area for concrete. Part of how we are funded by the Cement Companies as IRMCA is by our ability to show that we are actively promoting and creating concrete projects. Participating in these regional promotion groups will allow you to direct where the group will spend its efforts promoting and who we will promote to; as well as produce concrete projects in your area to bid on. As a member of a Regional Promotion Group you will mostly be supplying leads to the group and I will work on converting projects to concrete or visiting the engineers and talking to them about the products that you want to promote. You will not be asked to give presentations or give technical talks unless you volunteer to do so. You may be asked to invite one or two contractors that you do business with to help work with the group to flip projects from asphalt to concrete. Not only would this create more concrete for you to supply as a producer you are also creating more work for that contractor to bid and make money on.

If you would like to join the Regional Promotion Group in your area please contact Theron Tobolski at 708-473-0117 to ttobolski@irmca.org to sign up. Please see the attached original announcement sent out by IRMCA below regarding the Regional Promotion Groups.

The Illinois Ready Mixed Concrete Association is excited to break the State into 4 Regional Promotional Groups (RPGs). These 4 groups will help the Association better understand and focus on the needs in each region. IRMCA will also work with these 4 regions to pass along information from the technical, OES, and future Committees. Promotion is one of the priorities that the Illinois Ready Mixed Concrete Association is focusing on in 2016. Each RPG will be comprised of Producer, Associate, Affiliate, and Contractor Members in that Region. Producer Members would be placed in the RPG where a majority of their plants are located in. Associate, Affiliate, and Contractor Members can pick which RPG they would like to join. Each Regional Promotion Group will have a chairman who schedules and moderates the meetings, creates the agenda, and works with the committee to assign responsibilities to complete the tasks the committee sets forth. The Chairman of each Regional Promotion Group will work directly with Theron Tobolski, IRMCA, Assistant Executive Director.

Regional Promotion Group 1 – IDOT District 1, 2, and 3

Regional Promotion Group 2 – IDOT District 4 and 5

Regional Promotion Group 3 – IDOT District 6 and 7

Regional Promotion Group 4 – IDOT District 8 and 9

IRMCA is looking for 1 Volunteer from each Producer, Associate, and Affiliate category to join the Regional Promotion Group in their Area.

Each RPG will help determine:

-         What Products and Concepts we promote in their region? Pervious Concrete, WhiteTopping, Roller Compacted Concrete, Branded Driveway Mixes, High Early Mixes, Flowable fills, High Strength Concrete, Self-Consolidating Concrete, High Strength Concrete, Fibers, Chemicals and other Value Added Products, Parking Lot Conversions

·         How do we promote these products? Webinars, Lunch and Learns, Mailings, Brochures, Contractor Meetings, Boots on the Ground

·         Who are we promoting too? Contractors, Engineers, Land Developers, Municipalities, IDOT, Tollway, Counties

Promotion is one of the most important things we can do as IRMCA to grow the Market for Concrete. Residential, Commercial, High Rise, and Government markets all require our attention and promotion to keep concrete relevant. Our competition is out there promoting and taking work away from us every day. Next time you are driving in your car look at the strip mall parking lot, fast food parking lot, movie theatre parking lot, or big box store parking lot and ask yourself why they chose asphalt instead of concrete. It is most likely that no one from the Concrete Industry approached them and had a conversation about why concrete is better than asphalt. If we keep doing what we always did we will keep getting what we always got.  Illinois is a big state and it is going to take teams of people pulling in the same direction with the same effort in all markets. IRMCA is asking you to join the Regional Promotion Group in your area and be a part of the TEAM that is going to Make Concrete Great Again.

Please contact Theron Tobolski at 708-473-0117 to ttobolski@irmca.org to sign up for the Regional Promotion Group in your area.
